M40A1 Bottom Metal – Steel Two-Piece Assembly

Our M40A1 Bottom Metal is a steel two-piece bottom metal assembly designed specifically for M40A1-style Remington 700 short-action builds and reproductions.

The bottom metal pieces are manufactured approximately 0.100″ thicker than the original configuration. This additional material provides extra thickness for fitting and glass bedding, allowing the bottom metal to be properly fitted to the individual stock during an M40A1 build.

The assembly includes the components needed for installation other than the action screws. Action screws are available separately.

Fitment

These parts are intended to be fitted as part of the rifle-building and bedding process rather than treated as a universal drop-in component.

Depending on the trigger being used, minor fitting may be required to provide proper clearance and function.
