The D&D Gunworks Plastic M40 Buttplate is a reproduction buttplate designed for M40 and M40-style rifle builds. Originally developed to support our own rifle production, these buttplates provide builders with a practical solution when original components are unavailable or prohibitively expensive.

These buttplates feature the same profile and curvature as the original 16601 buttplate, making them an excellent choice for restoration projects, clone builds, and custom rifles seeking the correct appearance.

Each buttplate is intentionally manufactured slightly oversized. This allows the builder to fit the buttplate to the stock rather than altering the stock to fit the buttplate. Final fitting can typically be accomplished with common shop tools such as a belt sander, file, or Dremel tool. We believe this approach offers the best finished appearance while preserving the dimensions and contours of the stock.

Produced in-house using modern additive 3d printing (plastic) manufacturing techniques, these buttplates are durable, lightweight, and easily shaped during installation. They are supplied unfinished and are intended to be fitted by the builder as part of the final assembly process.
