Description

The D&D Gunworks M40 Barrel is the same match-grade barrel used on our production rifles. By purchasing directly, you benefit from the volume pricing we receive, allowing you to complete your M40A1 project with the same quality components trusted in our own builds.

Manufactured from carbon steel and button rifled for accuracy, these barrels feature a 1:10 twist rate and are cut for use with a standard Remington 700 recoil lug. The contour and dimensions closely follow the original M40 profile, making them an excellent choice for clone builds, restoration projects, competition rifles, and historically inspired reproductions.

Each barrel is supplied pre-threaded and short chambered, allowing a qualified gunsmith to perform final chambering and headspacing to the individual rifle. The short chamber provides flexibility for final chambering in either .308 Winchester or 7.62 NATO.

These match-grade barrels have demonstrated exceptional accuracy in our production rifles, with average group sizes well under 1 MOA and many rifles producing groups closer to 0.5 MOA or better when paired with quality ammunition and proper gunsmithing.

With a 24-inch length and a muzzle diameter of .825 inches, these barrels meet the dimensional requirements commonly associated with the M40A1 rifle and are legal for use in CMP Vintage Sniper Matches when installed on an otherwise compliant rifle.
